Behavioral Health Care That Fits In Your Life

Our Day and Evening adult outpatient day programs are designed to help! Don’t deal with anxiety, depression, self-harm and/or thoughts of death, life transition, loss of pleasure, lack of support, grief, trauma, work struggles or social activities avoidance alone. These adult outpatient day programs are part of the continuum of care offered for both adults and adolescents in the Seattle metropolitan area and can be used as an alternative to hospitalization. Adult outpatient services offer a more intensive care than a weekly office visit but don’t require an overnight stay or 24-hour care. Our adult outpatient programs include group therapy, individualized case management with a licensed clinician, structured family involvement, as well as a medication evaluation, and management by a board-certified psychiatrist.

Adult Outpatient Programs at Fairfax:

Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for Mental Health at Fairfax

Our Day Treatment, commonly known as PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program), is an alternative to hospitalization and does not require 24-hour overnight care. PHP is the common abbreviation for the Partial Hospitalization Program. If you or a loved one needs more intensive support and structure than what individual or weekly therapy can provide but does not need 24-hour, overnight monitoring or hospitalization, our Day Program may be the right fit. We offer Day Programs for Adults and Adolescents in the Seattle metro area. You’ll learn important skills that will help you reconnect with others, build self-confidence, and better manage life’s daily activities and schedules. We can also assist in finding an outpatient team for you to work with once you have completed our program to aid in your transition back to your life. Attendees are encouraged to participate in their healing process. Group therapy is facilitated by Licensed Therapists and Registered Nurses (RN). Day Program is 5 days a week, Monday through Friday for 6 hours a day and lunch is provided.

Our Day Program for Adults focuses on interpersonal relationship struggles, emotional regulation, life transitions, trauma, safety, and developing coping skills. Through evidenced-based treatment models in Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, individuals increase their sense of calm and gain self-confidence in all areas of their lives. The Adult Day Program includes group, individual, and family therapy. It is our goal to stay on top of the latest research and strive to offer a comprehensive curriculum for group therapy and we add new groups to keep the information we provide fresh. Here are examples of some of the groups we offer for the Adult Day Program:

  • Process
  • Didactic/Psychoeducation
  • Meditation/self-soothing
  • Coping Skills
  • Sleep Hygiene and Nutrition
  • Art/music therapy

The typical length of stay or course of treatment for the Adult Day Program is 4-6 weeks. Your treatment team will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan to outline your personal goals and progress.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Mental Health at Fairfax

Morning IOP (3 or 5 Days weekly)
Afternoon IOP (3 days weekly)
Evening IOP (3 days weekly)
Women-Only IOP

Our Intensive Outpatient Program, commonly known as IOP, is a step beyond weekly individual therapy. Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program is designed for individuals who are in need of a structured setting in which to work towards overcoming symptoms of mental health, behavioral health and/or substance abuse concerns.

Our Evening Program is offered to Adults. If you or a loved one needs more than individual or weekly therapy with the goal to increase coping skills, our Evening Program may be the right fit. The Evening Program attends 3 nights a week for 3 hours each (total of 9 hours a week) and it fits perfectly with an individual’s day-time work schedule. Through the evidenced-based treatment model, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), individuals will develop new skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships. The Evening Program approaches therapy in a group setting presented by licensed therapists. Individuals in the program have access to a medication evaluation and management by a board-certified psychiatrist. Attendees of the Evening Program are encouraged to continue their weekly appointments with their established outpatient therapist and if one has not obtained an individual outpatient therapist while in the Evening Program, we will provide referrals to aid in that process. Our Evening Program follows the 4 DBT modules and each module is 2 weeks. Groups offered include:

  • Mindfulness
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotion Regulation

The total length of stay for Evening Program is about 8 weeks. Your treatment team will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan to outline your personal goals and progress.
