Adult PHP

The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) follows a 3-week rotating curriculum.   We encourage patients to take an active part in treatment by practicing mindfulness and other coping skills on a daily basis.  We offer guidance to patients who need help finding outside providers and we communicate with existing providers about their patients’ progress in the program.

Groups are facilitated by Ph.D. and Masters level therapists and a Registered Nurse (RN).

Groups offered at Adult PHP include:

  • Psychoeducation
  • Skills Practice
  • Art
  • Meditation/Music
  • Process

Registered Nurse (RN) groups encompass:

  • Treatment and Discharge Planning
  • Medication Education and Management
  • Nutrition
  • Sleep Hygiene
  • Self-Soothing Techniques

RN’s also collaborate with the physician and ARNP to address medical needs, medication information and underlying health concerns.

Our daily focus is on learning about attachment, emotions and mood regulation, thought processes and disorders, family dynamics, communication, safety, and healthy relationships. We review and practice coping skills such as the 3-step process on a daily basis, and we individual coping strategies with each patient.  We encourage patients to have family meetings while they are enrolled in PHP, and to strengthen their support networks as part of discharge planning.

Therapist led groups include:

  • Psych Education
  • Skills Practice Groups
  • Art Therapy
  • Process Group
