Inpatient Treatment

Our clinical program staff works closely with the patient, family, and community professionals to plan an aggressive course of treatment which allows transition into a less restrictive level of treatment as quickly as possible. Our therapeutic programming includes medication evaluation and management, group therapy, family involvement, and individual counseling as indicated. Inpatient treatment for voluntary and involuntarily detained patients is provided on three separate secured units: the Acute Care Unit for patients experiencing psychosis or warranting greater observation and monitoring; the General Unit for patients who are more able to benefit from cognitive treatment; and the Chemical Dependency Unit where treatment of co-occurring disorders involves stabilization of the psychiatric symptoms that necessitates hospitalization. Most involuntary patients are admitted to the Acute Care Unit, however, the General and CD Units can take involuntary patients with lesser acuity, in addition to voluntary patients.

The three units, each with distinctive programming, allow treatment to be tailored to the level of functioning and degree of illness. Programming includes: Daily medication evaluation, individual and group treatment, psycho-educational groups for patients and families, co-occurring disorders treatment for patients with mental health and chemical dependency issues, family involvement and education, coordination with outpatient and community treatment systems, and expressive and recreational therapies.

Partial Hospitalization

An adult who requires intensive support and structure but does not require 24 hour supervision may be appropriate for partial hospitalization, an intensive day hospital program. This level of care may be appropriate when outpatient treatment is not sufficient to meet the level of acuity, or as a transition from inpatient treatment to help reintegrate the individual into a home environment. Resolution and stabilization of acute illness are provided while allowing the patient to live at home. Patients participate in the inpatient hospital program during daytime hours, Monday through Friday.

  • Program Features:

    • An Individual Treatment Plan is developed and managed for each patient
