Fairfax Hospital provides free assessment and referral services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for individuals of all ages. Please call our Assessment and Referral Department at 425-821-2000 or 800-435-7221 for a free, confidential assessment.

A face-to-face assessment may be scheduled with a qualified mental health professional to review an individual’s concerns about changes in their emotions, behaviors and level of daily functioning. The assessment takes approximately 30-45 minutes and concludes with recommendations for the best treatment options. Appointments may be scheduled by calling our Assessment and Referral Department.

Assessment and referral is a free community service. With few exceptions, the assessment is available to anyone regardless of insurance coverage or whether treatment is received at Fairfax Hospital or elsewhere.

Assessments are provided by evaluators who are licensed mental health counselors and trained psychologists, social workers, counselors, nurses and nurse practitioners. The clinicians are trained and experienced in assessing problems associated with mental health issues of children, adolescents and adults.

Individuals are referred to appropriate community services according to need and financial resources.
